A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam emails, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam protection software. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming email messages to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
You’ll be able to set up a catch-all mailbox without any difficulty in case you’ve got a shared website hosting plan with our company. The Email Manager in our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet exceptionally simple to work with, and it will allow you to enable various options, including the catch-all one, with only several clicks of the mouse. All the mailboxes that you have set up will be listed alphabetically in this section and on the right-hand side of each of them you will notice a tiny "Catch-all" logo. Clicking on it once will activate this feature, clicking it once again will deactivate it. Since you can have only one such mailbox per domain name, our system will inform you if you’ve already got another mailbox with this option enabled or if you’ve got active email forwarding.
